We started providing our complete freight forwarding services to exhibitions at the 1st Japanese Industrial Exhibition, which was held in Moscow in 1960. Since then we have been developing our global network and can now boast partners in over 80 Countries worldwide.
Ishikawa-Gumi is also a member of IELA (International Exhibition Logistics Associates), a worldwide trade association, dedicated to transport and freight handling logistics, solely in the exhibition industry. We are specialists in various fields of freight handling including miscellaneous / apparel items to large scaled machine tools, semiconductor manufacturing and communication equipment.
Ishikawa-Gumi has gained experience at many diverse and specialised events for over half a century. We were appointed as the official Customs clearance and logistics provider for the Japanese group attending the “Montreal World Expo” in 1967, which celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation. We have enjoyed the same status at similar events held in South America, Eastern Europe and the Middle East
At the “Space Expo” (1978 & 1979) held in Japan, we were assigned to transport rockets and lunar rovers from NASA.NASM. And as an official freight forwarder at the “Japanese Industrial Exhibition”, sponsored by the Jetro External Trade Organisation (JETRO), we have experience in providing freight logistics services in many Countries, including Russia, Mexico and China.
In addition to international events, Ishikawa-Gumi has been appointed as the official freight forwarder and logistics provider for some of the major bonded events held in Japan such as the Tokyo Motor Show, Inter BEE, Sea Japan and Japan Aerospace.
In co-operation with Japanese Customs we have been able to offer a full Customs clearance service for organisers and exhibitors alike.
Ishikawa-Gumi provides a high level service, which is both reliable and hassle-free for our clients. Our comprehensive service incorporates all aspects of the movement, from schedule control to packing, Customs formalities (import & export) and delivery to stand. We handle over 200 cases each year at both domestic and international events and continue to give our very best to meet our Client’s needs.
Recently, the regulations in Japan are becoming stricter. Neither the Organizer nor the Freight Forwarder / Customs broker, can act as an importer.
IMPORT LICENSE or other additional permission is required prior to customs declaration for the following items even if they are only going to be displayed in an exhibition. We strongly recommend that you do NOT send the following items.
Japanese Customs will open all packages and every single item will be checked. If there is any discrepancy in the documentation (such as items being found that are not listed in the documentation), it will cause seizure / delay / non-delivery or fines / additional expense which will be on the shipper’s account and responsibility.
